Mauser launched the 29/70 series to reintroduce the Luger platform using modern metallurgy while preserving the original toggle-lock design. Each pistol was hand-fitted on Swiss machinery, yielding precise tolerances uncommon in 1970s handguns.
The American Eagle chamber crest pays homage to the rare 1900–1906 U.S. commercial Lugers, giving this example immediate visual and historical appeal. Collectors value these crested models for their direct link to early American Luger history.
A 6-inch carbon-steel barrel extends the sight radius and echoes the naval P.04 configuration. The deep, high-polish blue finish covers the barrel, frame, and receiver, contrasting sharply with the checkered walnut grips.
Factory markings—INTERARMS Alexandria, Virginia; Made in Germany; MAUSER-WERKE A.G. Oberndorf a.N.—confirm its export pedigree, while the intact manual thumb safety and grip safety retain the original Luger manual of arms.
