This factory “Deer Gun” variant of the gas-operated Remington Model 1100 delivers reliable semi-auto performance with a purpose-built 21-inch smoothbore barrel, fixed Improved Cylinder choke, and rifle sights optimized for Foster or Brenneke slugs. Manufactured in the 1970's, it combines the Model 1100’s proven action with features aimed squarely at slug hunters and collectors of early slug autoloaders.

Built between 1974 and 1977, this early slug gun predates widespread rifled barrels. The fixed Improved Cylinder choke marked with a star (★) provides the ideal constriction for traditional lead slugs while still accepting standard 2-3/4" shotshells.
The 21-inch plain steel barrel wears a silver-soldered ramp front sight and a fully adjustable rifle-style rear sight on a pedestal, giving hunters precise point-of-impact control without optics. Receiver scroll engraving adds a factory touch of style uncommon on field-grade guns of the era.
The gas-operated Model 1100 action keeps recoil manageable and cycles reliably even with heavy slug loads. At approximately 7 lb 10 oz and 41¼" overall length, the shotgun balances quickly in tight cover.
Walnut furniture features cut checkering with fleur-de-lis accents and an oil finish that complements the polished blue steel. The stock’s 14.0" length of pull, combined with the Pachmayr White Line pad, delivers a comfortable, non-slip shoulder fit.
Barrel and receiver remain fully interchangeable with modern Model 1100 components, offering easy parts support while retaining the character of an early factory slug autoloader.
