DWM P.08 “Alphabet Commercial” 7.65 Parabellum, early-1920s high-polish rust-blue, factory-engraved DWM toggle
Produced in Germany during the early 1920s Weimar era, this DWM P.08 “Alphabet Commercial” Luger represents the first true civilian run after the Treaty of Versailles. Chambered in 7.65x21 mm Parabellum, the pistol retains its characteristic high-polish rust-blue finish, fine checkered walnut grips, and straw-hardened small parts. A factory-engraved DWM monogram crowns the toggle, while an export “GERMANY” stamp confirms its original shipment to the U.S. market.

This mid-range “m-block” Alphabet Commercial features the desirable blank chamber and commercial hidden-serial placement, hallmarks of post-Versailles civilian Lugers. The long-taper 100 mm barrel is original, with a smooth non-stepped muzzle and matching rust-blue finish.
Proofed with Crown/N nitro marks and bearing the large “GERMANY” export stamp, the pistol illustrates DWM’s meticulous commercial production standards. Fire-blued pins and small parts add period-correct contrast against the high-polish blue frame and receiver.
