A. Uberti 1873 Cattleman Ursus New-Model 10 mm Single-Action Revolver • 5.5″ Ported Barrel • Color-Case Frame
This modern take on the classic Colt Single Action Army pattern is one of the few factory six-shooters chambered for 10 mm Auto. Built by A. Uberti in Italy, the Ursus New-Model blends period-correct aesthetics—color-case-hardened frame, blued steel cylinder, one-piece walnut grip—with practical upgrades like a factory-ported barrel and Uberti’s concealed hammer-block safety. Imported in limited numbers under Stoeger SKU 345493 and not listed in Uberti’s regular U.S. catalog, it offers collectors and shooters a rare combination of traditional style and contemporary performance.

The 5.5-inch carbon-steel barrel is factory ported with 24 small vents that noticeably reduce muzzle rise without altering the revolver’s classic lines. Unlike aftermarket compensators, the porting is cleanly machined at the factory and protected by a deep blued finish.
Uberti chambers this Cattleman for 10 mm Auto—a modern, high-pressure cartridge that delivers flat trajectories and stout energy from the single-action platform. Despite the updated chambering, the revolver retains full compatibility with standard SAA holsters and accessories.
The color-case-hardened steel frame is paired with a blued cylinder, back-strap, and ejector housing, reproducing the two-tone look of 19th-century Colts. Italian proof marks, a square “20” date code, and the Stoeger import stamp are crisply struck and unobtrusive.
Safety is handled by Uberti’s improved retractable firing-pin/hammer-block system and a two-position base pin, allowing safe six-up carry while preserving the original hammer silhouette. The single-action trigger breaks cleanly, and fixed sights (blade front, top-strap groove rear) stay true to the 1873 pattern.
