What’s Included
- Ruger Single-Six revolver
This revolver retains the original pre-1973 action without the later transfer-bar conversion, a feature many enthusiasts seek for its classic trigger feel. Ruger still offers the retrofit at no charge, but leaving the lock-work untouched preserves the correct period configuration.
The XR3 grip frame, introduced in 1953 and phased out after 1962, mimics the Colt Single Action Army profile and pairs with checkered hard-rubber grips bearing silver Ruger medallions. These silver “black-eagle” inserts returned in 1959, making this example an accurate representation of that transitional year.
A steel ejector-rod housing with a checkered half-moon button and a six-shot fluted cylinder round out the classic features of the Single-Six. The blued carbon-steel construction and black-anodized aluminum grip frame keep weight manageable while maintaining Ruger’s well-known durability.
With its 5.5-inch barrel, fixed serrated ramp front sight, and drift-adjustable square-notch rear sight, this revolver offers a straightforward sight picture for precise plinking or small-game work. Its full-size frame balances well in the hand, and the single-action hammer presents a narrow, coarsely serrated spur for confident cocking.
