Romarm/Cugir ROMAK 99.2 5.45x39mm Semi-Automatic AK-74 Rifle with Tapco M4 Stock & Quad Rail
Imported from Romania during the 1994–2004 ban period, this ROMAK 99.2 is a scarce, single-stack AK-74 variant chambered in 5.45x39mm. It retains its original chrome-lined, 16.5-inch barrel and left-side optics rail, while sporting practical upgrades such as a Tapco six-position M4-style stock and a UTG quad-rail handguard. Collectors will appreciate its limited U.S. import history, and shooters will value its modern furniture and ready-to-mount accessory rails.

The ROMAK 99.2 uses a straight-cut 1 mm stamped receiver paired with a long-stroke gas piston and rotating bolt, mirroring the dependable AK-74 operating system.
Tapco’s collapsible M4-style stock gives six length-of-pull settings, improving ergonomics over the original thumb-hole stock. The UTG quad-rail handguard supplies four Picatinny rails with numbered slots, making it simple to mount lights, lasers, or optics.
A left-side optics rail lets users add standard AK side-mount optics without altering the rifle. Iron sights remain the classic open front post and tangent rear sight graduated to 1,000 meters, offering quick target engagement.
Because only a limited number of single-stack ROMAK 99.2 rifles entered the United States, examples like this—especially with period-correct import markings—have become increasingly collectible. The tasteful, reversible upgrades on this rifle enhance utility while preserving its core Romanian character.
