What’s Included
- Savage Model 170 .30-30 pump-action rifle
Introduced at a time when most .30-30 rifles were lever guns, the Model 170 stood out by offering pump-action speed with familiar tubular-magazine operation. The action cycles rounds from a 3-shot under-barrel tube, plus one in the chamber, delivering quick follow-up shots without altering the rifle’s balance.
Its alloy receiver is black anodized for durability and pairs with a blued carbon-steel barrel. The combination keeps weight manageable while preserving classic lines. A factory-machined rail atop the receiver allows straightforward optic installation without gunsmithing.
The walnut stock and matching finger-grooved fore-end feature pressed checkering for a secure grip in the field. A semi-pistol-grip profile and 14-inch length of pull provide comfortable shouldering for most shooters. Sling swivel studs are installed from the factory.
Sighting equipment includes a ramped brass-bead front and an adjustable folding rear leaf. The six-groove, right-hand twist barrel maintains accuracy, and the proof-marked ".30-30" chamber underscores the rifle’s pedigree.
