Mossberg Model 640KD Chuckster .22 WMR Bolt-Action Rifle – 24" Barrel, Blued Finish, Birch Monte Carlo Stock
The Model 640KD Chuckster is Mossberg’s final U.S.–made bolt-action rimfire line, produced from 1969 to 1985. Chambered in .22 WMR, this full-size sporting rifle pairs a 24-inch blued barrel with a birch Monte Carlo stock, giving small-game hunters reliable performance out to roughly 150 yards. Receivers come grooved and drilled/tapped for optics, while iron sights remain in place for immediate use. Offered here without a magazine, it operates as a single-shot straight from the box.
CONDITION
Overall Condition: Fair – showing extensive signs of prior use and handling.
Bore Condition: Fair – generally clean, some residue or smudges, slight corrosion.
Rifling: Fair – worn rifling, slight loss of definition.
This rifle retains solid mechanical integrity. Scratches and blemishes are present on the blued metal surfaces, with minor rust spotting in several areas. The semi-gloss birch stock shows typical field marks but no structural cracks. The bore remains bright with visible rifling despite the noted wear.
