Zastava Arms Model 59/66 PAP SKS 7.62x39 Semi-Automatic Rifle, 17.5" Barrel, 1971 Yugoslavian Production
This 1971-dated Zastava Arms Model 59/66 PAP is a Yugoslav variant of the SKS platform that has been professionally shortened and sporterized for a more compact profile. It retains its forged milled receiver, matching serial numbers, and rugged 7.62x39 chambering—features that appeal to shooters who value durability and historical lineage in a surplus rifle.

What’s Included
- Zastava Arms Model 59/66 PAP semi-automatic rifle (matching receiver, magazine, and stock numbers)
The 17.5" carbon-steel barrel has been cut down from its original length, with the grenade-launcher spigot and front sight tower removed, leaving a plain muzzle that reduces weight and overall length.
A milled carbon-steel receiver, non-chrome-lined Yugoslav barrel, and robust gas-operated action uphold the rifle’s reputation for longevity. The original gas shut-off lever remains intact, preserving its unique engineering feature even after sporterization.
Import marks from Century Arms (C.A.I. Georgia, VT) are cleanly stamped on the receiver, confirming its surplus origin and legal import status.
Hardwood furniture in beech shows classic surplus character, complete with integral sling swivels and a belly groove. Despite cosmetic handling marks, the stock’s structural integrity is solid.
The tangent-leaf rear sight is still graduated to 1000 meters, giving shooters authentic military sighting despite the removal of the front sight tower. Users can choose to install an aftermarket front sight or optic to suit their preference.
