Bryco Arms Model 38 .380 ACP Compact Semi-Auto Pistol – Dual-Branded Slide, 2.8" Barrel, 6+1 Capacity
The Bryco Arms Model 38 is a compact, striker-fired .380 ACP pistol produced in the United States from 1991 to 2003. This example stands out for its dual Jennings/Bryco slide markings, glossy black finish, and factory package with two magazines and original box. Its simple blow-back action, heel-type magazine release, and 2.8-inch barrel make it a straightforward pocket carry piece and a notable link in the lineage that later became the Jimenez JA-380.

Produced during the 1990s–early 2000s, the Model 38 represents Bryco’s evolution of the earlier Jennings J-38 design. The slide bears both Jennings Firearms and Bryco 38 roll marks, a detail that collectors of the “Ring of Fire” series often seek.
The pistol uses a simple blow-back, striker-fired, single-action system. A manual thumb safety pairs with an inertial striker block to provide basic mechanical security while keeping the manual of arms straightforward.
Its 2.8-inch steel barrel, compact Zamak alloy frame, and 6+1 capacity magazine deliver a slim profile suitable for discreet carry. Rear vertical slide serrations promote positive manipulation, and fixed ramped-blade front and integral square-notch rear sights supply a clear sight picture at typical defensive distances.
The frame, slide, and receiver wear a matching glossy black blued finish, complemented by black polymer grips that fill the hand without adding bulk. A smooth, curved single-action trigger rounds out the controls, while the heel-type magazine release secures the magazine firmly in place.
