The Trapper configuration offers a handy overall length of 34.25" and a factory spiral-fluted bolt that cycles the five-round tubular magazine smoothly. The 16.17" cold-hammer-forged barrel is threaded 11/16"-24 for muzzle devices or a suppressor, and its 1:20" right-hand twist stabilizes a wide range of .45-70 Govt. loads.
A satin stainless finish on both barrel and receiver resists corrosion in the field, while the laminated hardwood stock provides dimensional stability and a firm pistol-grip hold. Factory checkering, sling studs, and a recoil pad round out the stock features.
Skinner adjustable peep sights give a crisp sight picture, and the receiver is drilled and tapped for an optics rail. A cross-bolt safety, half-cock hammer position, and external hammer design deliver straightforward, familiar controls.
This early production example showcases Ruger’s post-bankruptcy quality updates, including tight fit, improved machining, and clear Mayodan roll-marks. With an MSRP of $1,449, it offers modern materials and features without sacrificing the traditional feel collectors expect from a big-bore Marlin.
