Product Description

Browning Citori Field Grade 20 Ga Over/Under Shotgun, 28" Barrels, 3" Chamber, Fixed Cylinder Bores

This early-production 1975 Browning Citori Field Grade offers the classic lines of the first-issue Citoris built by Miroku in Japan. Forged steel receiver and special-steel barrels were hand-fitted for durability, while the plain blued finish, metal butt-plate, and fixed chokes mark it as a true first-generation example. A tasteful after-market “Nick Santo” cursive inscription on the receiver adds individual character without altering the original Browning mechanics and balance.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Very good condition, showing only light, superficial signs of prior handling or use.

Bore Condition: Excellent – clean, mirror finish, no signs of wear.

Specific Condition Notes: The metal and wood display only minimal marks from previous handling, with crisp checkering and original gloss intact.

    What’s Included

    • Browning Citori Field Grade 20 Gauge Over/Under Shotgun

First-generation Citoris from 1973–1976 are sought after for their forged receivers, transverse locking bolt, and fixed-choke barrels—features carried over from the legendary Superposed. This 20 gauge retains all those traits, offering reliable lock-up and the lively handling that helped establish the Citori name.

The 28-inch special-steel barrels are factory-fixed to cylinder bore, giving smooth patterns ideal for close-to-moderate upland work. A ventilated rib and white front bead provide a clear sighting plane, while 3" chambers add flexibility for a wide range of 20 gauge loads.

The stock and slim beavertail fore-end are cut from nicely figured gloss walnut. Checkering remains sharp, and the period-correct metal butt-plate preserves original length of pull at a comfortable 14.0".

Controls follow the proven Browning layout: top-tang safety/barrel selector, single selective gold-plated inertia trigger, and mechanical ejectors for fast, positive operation. Balance and swing are characteristic of early Field Grades—neutral and responsive.

Whether added to a Browning collection or taken afield, this personalized 1975 Citori exemplifies the craftsmanship and shootability that define the model’s enduring reputation.
