The 5-inch stainless-steel barrel is treated with Smith & Wesson’s Armornite nitrocarburized finish for added corrosion resistance and durability. Combined with the longer barrel, shooters gain a flatter recoil impulse and extended sight radius for easier target transitions.
The Flat Dark Earth slide features wave-pattern front and rear cocking serrations that provide a secure grip during press checks or slide manipulation, even with gloves. An internal stainless-steel chassis reinforces the polymer frame, reducing flex and improving overall rigidity under recoil.
Controls are user-friendly and adaptable. A reversible magazine release caters to left- or right-handed shooters, while an ambidextrous slide stop enables quick, intuitive operation. The hinged safety trigger, striker block, and sear-deactivation lever offer multiple passive safety layers without adding external levers.
Field-stripping is straightforward thanks to the sear-deactivation lever, eliminating the need to pull the trigger during takedown. The “NCR” serial prefix confirms recent production, ensuring the pistol incorporates the latest M2.0 refinements.
