What’s Included
- Type III brown leather Nambu clamshell holster with shoulder strap
- Original 8-round steel magazine with alloy floorplate, numbered “894” to the pistol
- Numbered spare firing pin (#27)
This full-size Type 14 is chambered in 8x22mm Nambu and operates on a recoil-operated, locked-breech, striker-fired system. The enlarged trigger guard was adopted for gloved use in cold weather, a practical improvement seen only on late-war production runs.
The pistol’s blued carbon-steel frame, slide, and 4.7-inch barrel retain uniform wartime finish, complemented by ribbed wooden grip panels that remain solid and serviceable. The Nagoya arsenal mark and serial 19894 confirm Toriimatsu Branch manufacture during the accelerated 1944 schedule.
Fixed iron sights—a front blade and integral rear notch—provide the standard sight picture for the Type 14. A thumb safety on the frame and the alloy butt hardware reflect late-series design adjustments aimed at simplifying manufacture without compromising function.
An original, matching-number magazine and a factory spare firing pin illustrate careful wartime supply practices and enhance the pistol’s completeness for collectors of Japanese WWII sidearms.
