Remington Model 760 Gamemaster Standard Grade .30-06 Pump-Action Rifle | 22-Inch Barrel, Pre-1968 Production
This early-production Remington Model 760 Gamemaster pairs the fast follow-up shots of a pump action with the power of the .30-06 cartridge. Built before 1968, it features the model’s signature 14-lug rotating bolt, polished blue steel, and satin walnut furniture. A detachable box magazine, open sights, and pre-installed scope bases round out a versatile hunting and collecting piece.

What’s Included
- Remington Model 760 Gamemaster Standard Grade .30-06 rifle
- One 4-round detachable steel magazine
- Two-piece Weaver-style scope bases (installed)
- Aftermarket quick-detach sling-swivel studs (installed)
The Model 760 was introduced in 1952 and remained in production until 1981, with over one million rifles made. This example, serial number 193571, falls solidly within the desirable pre-1968 numeric range.
A 22-inch barrel keeps the rifle maneuverable while still delivering full .30-06 performance. The interrupted-thread bolt locks into battery with 14 lugs, giving the action strength comparable to a modern turn-bolt rifle yet allowing rapid pump cycling.
The detachable magazine lets hunters safely load pointed spitzer bullets—something not possible with traditional tubular-magazine pumps. A factory 4-round steel mag is included, and additional spares are readily available.
The receiver and barrel wear a polished blue finish that contrasts nicely with the satin-lacquer walnut stock and ribbed fore-end. The stock has a straight comb, pistol grip, and hard plastic Remington buttplate for classic 1950s styling.
Open iron sights—a serrated ramp front and dovetail-mounted leaf rear—come standard, while the installed Weaver bases make mounting a scope straightforward without gunsmithing.
