CVA St. Louis Hawken .50 Cal Percussion Muzzleloader Rifle – 28" Octagonal Barrel, Double-Set Triggers, Brass Furniture
This Spanish-made CVA St. Louis Hawken is a faithful, carefully crafted reproduction of the 19th-century plains rifle that helped define the American frontier. Built in the 1980s–1990s and discontinued in 2003, it combines a 28-inch blued octagonal barrel with reliable percussion ignition and the classic double-set trigger system. Light scroll engraving on the lock plate and polished brass furniture add period-correct character that attracts both shooters and collectors.

What’s Included

The 28-inch blued steel barrel features an octagonal profile and a 1:48 twist, a versatile combination for shooting both patched round balls and conical projectiles with dependable accuracy.
A traditional double-set trigger setup lets the shooter choose between a standard pull or a hair-trigger release, offering precise control in the field or on the range.
The hardwood half-stock wears a warm reddish-brown finish and is complemented by brass furniture, including the patchbox, butt-plate, and nose-cap, giving the rifle its authentic Hawken appearance.
Sights are purely iron: a dovetailed blade front paired with an adjustable rear, allowing practical elevation and windage adjustments without departing from the rifle’s historic styling.
Markings on the barrel read “Connecticut Valley Arms Inc. Spain,” confirming its origin and import lineage, while light scroll engraving on the lock plate adds a subtle decorative touch that sets this example apart.
