Browning BPS Field 12 Gauge Pump Shotgun, 26" Barrel, Bottom-Eject, 1980 Production
Manufactured in 1980 by Miroku for Browning, this early-run BPS Field offers the fully ambidextrous bottom-feed, bottom-eject design that made the model stand out from its introduction in 1977. A fixed Modified choke, gold-plated trigger, and satin-finished walnut furniture give this 12 gauge a classic Browning look while preserving the robust construction the brand is known for.

What’s Included
- Browning BPS Field 12 Gauge pump-action shotgun
This is an early production BPS, identified by its “PM” 1980 date code and fixed Modified choke—features found before Browning adopted the Invector screw-in system. Collectors looking for original configuration guns will appreciate this detail.
The shotgun’s bottom-feed and bottom-eject action eliminates spent hulls crossing the shooter’s face, making the design equally practical for right- and left-handed users. It also maintains a slim receiver profile.
A 26" steel barrel with a vent rib extends in a seamless plane onto the receiver, offering a clear sighting picture. The two-star stamp on the barrel confirms the Modified constriction.
The gold-plated trigger and satin-finished walnut stock—with checkering, pistol grip, and ventilated recoil pad—provide the Browning aesthetic while delivering solid control and recoil management.
Browning’s early magazine cutoff ring remains intact, allowing quick unloading without cycling shells through the action.
