Ruger 10/22 Carbine .22 LR Semi-Automatic Rifle, 18.5" Barrel, 1970s Southport Production
This 1970s Ruger 10/22 Carbine comes from the company’s earlier Southport, Connecticut era and retains the classic features that made the design famous. An alloy steel, tapered 18.5" barrel is paired with an aluminum-alloy receiver and an uncheckered hardwood stock, creating a lightweight, balanced rimfire that remains a favorite of shooters and collectors alike. Pre-tapped mounting points, the proven V-block barrel attachment, and an alloy trigger housing highlight its original configuration, while an extended 30-round magazine boosts capacity.

What’s Included
- Ruger 10/22 Carbine rifle
- 1× 30-round polymer extended Ruger-pattern magazine (installed)
Produced in the 1970s, this carbine carries the “Southport, Conn.” barrel roll mark, identifying it as pre-Newport manufacture and adding period authenticity. The receiver is factory-tapped for both Weaver-style and 3/8" tip-off mounts, allowing straightforward optic installation without additional machining.
The alloy trigger housing found on pre-2008 10/22s contributes to the rifle’s light overall weight while maintaining reliable function. Ruger’s patented 10-round rotary magazine system remains compatible, but the included 30-round polymer magazine maximizes range time between reloads.
A tapered 18.5" alloy-steel barrel delivers dependable accuracy with a standard 1:16 RH twist ideal for .22 LR projectiles. The barrel is secured by Ruger’s V-block system, simplifying future barrel swaps or upgrades.
The medium-brown hardwood stock features a comfortable semi-pistol grip and smooth, uncheckered surfaces for a traditional look. Iron sights consist of an integral blade front and a folding leaf rear, giving the shooter immediate sight picture out of the box.
