Heckler & Koch P7 PSP 9mm Luger, 1981 Plum-Blued Collectible Semi-Auto Pistol
The 1981 Heckler & Koch P7 PSP offered here is an early, German-made example of HK’s famed squeeze-cocker. An original heel-release variant finished in the desirable plum-hued nitro-carburized blue, it features the P7’s unique gas-delayed blowback system, fixed polygonal-rifled barrel, and striker-fired trigger. Matching factory test target and distributor invoice dated 26 January 1981 document its provenance, making this pistol especially attractive to collectors seeking a verified, low-production PSP.

Introduced for police trials, the P7 PSP (Polizei-Selbstlade-Pistole) represents HK’s first production run of the P7 series. Its squeeze-cocking lever serves as both safety and cocking mechanism, providing an intuitive, ambidextrous control that leaves the pistol completely at rest until gripped.
This example retains the original heel-type magazine release preferred by some agencies for secure retention. Combined with the fixed 4.1-inch barrel and gas-delayed system, the design delivers notably soft recoil and excellent mechanical accuracy.
The steel slide, frame, and barrel all carry German nitro proofs and the Ulm antler, while the right side is marked “HK INC ARL VA 22201,” confirming legitimate import during the early 1980s. The plum-tone bluing—typical of HK’s heat-treated steel of the era—remains even and vivid across the pistol.
Serial number 32979 matches the included test target and invoice, further authenticating its 1981 manufacture (IB date code). Collectors will appreciate the complete accessory set, original packaging, and documentation that accompany this increasingly scarce PSP.
