What’s Included
- Wards-Hercules Model 10 16 Gauge single-shot shotgun
This Model 10 follows the proven Savage/Stevens Model 94 pattern, using a side-lever to unlock the action and an external hammer for simple, intuitive operation.
The 30-inch forged-steel barrel is factory-marked “SELECTED FORGED STEEL” and is cut with a fixed Improved Modified choke. Together with the 2 3⁄4-inch chamber, it offers a balance of pattern density and versatility for most field loads.
Forged-steel construction extends to the receiver, all finished in period-correct bluing. The absence of a serial number is typical for pre-1968 commercial shotguns and confirms its mid-century manufacture.
The oil-finished walnut stock features a semi-pistol-grip profile, a factory sling swivel stud, and a 14.25-inch length of pull that fits most adult shooters. A silver-colored front bead provides a clear, traditional sight picture.
House-brand guns like this Hercules were utilitarian tools, yet their robust build and straightforward mechanics have helped many survive decades of farm and field use—making authentic examples increasingly hard to find.
