Armi San Marco 1860 Army .44 Cap-and-Ball Revolver – Steel-Framed, Italian-Made 1976 Reproduction
This early-production Armi San Marco Model 1860 Army is a faithful, steel-framed reproduction of the famous Colt percussion revolver. Made in Gardone, Italy in 1976, it features matching serial numbers on the frame, barrel, and grip strap, a roll-engraved naval battle scene on the rebated cylinder, and left-hand gain-twist rifling in its 8-inch barrel. The use of steel for the grip strap and trigger guard—rather than brass—adds durability and distinguishes it from many other replicas.

What’s Included
- Armi San Marco Model 1860 Army .44 cap-and-ball revolver
This revolver uses a traditional open-top frame with the standard Colt-style wedge, giving it the same balance and takedown method as the original 19th-century design.
The 8-inch carbon-steel barrel pairs with a six-shot rebated cylinder, both finished in a deep blue. The cylinder’s factory roll engraving vividly depicts a naval engagement, staying true to the historic artwork found on original Colt cylinders.
A color case-hardened steel frame, hammer, and loading lever provide visual contrast and period-correct aesthetics. Italian Gardone proof marks and the AB date code verify its 1976 manufacture and black-powder proofing.
The left-hand gain-twist, seven-groove rifling is a standout feature, intended to give the .44 round ball stable spin while reducing fouling. Fixed sights—a brass blade up front and a hammer notch rear—complete the classic sight picture.
