This rare, early-production Model 600 Magnum Carbine stands out for its compact 18.5-inch barrel with a factory nylon ventilated rib, laminated hardwood Monte Carlo stock, and distinctive dog-leg bolt handle. Built in July 1967 during the Model 600’s short 1964–1968 run, it represents one of roughly 94,000 rifles produced before the line transitioned to the Model 660. Chambered in the fast 6.5 mm Remington Magnum and often cited as a precursor to Jeff Cooper’s Scout Rifle concept, this carbine is widely regarded as collectible while remaining fully practical for field use.
