J.C. Higgins Model 103.18 .22 LR Single-Shot Bolt-Action Rifle, 22" Barrel, Blued Finish
This J.C. Higgins Model 103.18 is a Sears-branded, single-shot rimfire rifle produced in the United States between 1946 and the early 1960s. Marketed through Sears, Roebuck & Co., it mirrors the Marlin Model 100 and predates the 1968 Gun Control Act, so it was made without a serial number. Its simple bolt action, versatile .22 Short/Long/Long Rifle chambering, and classic hardwood stock give it the straightforward utility many shooters and collectors appreciate.

What’s Included
- J.C. Higgins Model 103.18 bolt-action rifle
Originally sold through Sears under the J.C. Higgins brand, this rifle provides an authentic glimpse into mid-20th-century American sporting arms. The Model 103.18 is identical to the Marlin Model 100, offering a proven single-shot action recognized for its simplicity and reliability.
The 22" carbon-steel barrel is paired with a brass-bead blade front sight and an adjustable stepped-elevator rear sight, giving shooters classic iron-sight capability across .22 Short, .22 Long, and .22 Long Rifle cartridges.
A blued carbon-steel receiver matches the barrel, while the oil-finished hardwood stock keeps weight and handling balanced. Length of pull measures 13", suitable for a range of shooters and field positions.
Because production ended before 1968, this rifle left the factory without a serial number, adding a period-correct detail that collectors often note when evaluating Sears-contract firearms.
