Kimber Solo Carry 9mm Two-Tone Micro Pistol – 2.7" Barrel, 6+1 Capacity, Ambidextrous Controls
The Kimber Solo Carry is a discontinued micro 9 mm pistol built for deep concealment without sacrificing shootability. Produced from 2011–2016, this striker-fired, single-action handgun pairs a satin stainless slide with a matte-black 7075-T7 aluminum frame, delivering a lightweight 17-ounce package designed for pocket or ankle carry. Ambidextrous controls, a smooth 7-lb aluminum trigger, and fixed 3-dot sights round out a feature set that was ahead of its time and remains attractive to collectors and everyday carriers alike.

The Solo Carry’s 2.7-inch stainless barrel and compact alloy frame keep overall length and weight minimal while maintaining full-power 9 mm performance. Kimber engineered the pistol around 124–147 gr defensive loads, providing reliable cycling in a micro footprint.
Ambidextrous features abound: push-button magazine releases on both sides and bilateral manual thumb safeties make the Solo adaptable for right- or left-handed shooters. An internal striker block adds a passive layer of safety.
The single-action striker system offers a consistent 7-pound pull, complemented by a smooth curved aluminum trigger. Rear cocking serrations on the slide aid manipulation, and fixed 3-dot sights give a clear, familiar sight picture.
With its two-tone finish and early adoption of ambidextrous controls in the micro-9 category, the Solo Carry holds a distinct place in Kimber’s lineup, serving as a precursor to the later Evo SP series. The serial prefix “S1” confirms its place in the original Solo production run.
