The aluminum-alloy slide wears a durable matte-black finish and features both rear cocking serrations and Smith & Wesson’s distinctive wave-pattern serrations for quick, positive manipulation. An integral three-slot Picatinny rail on the dust cover supports lights or lasers without adding bulk.
Internally, the pistol uses a single-action blowback design with an internal hammer, delivering a crisper break than striker-fired centerfire M&Ps. The hinged safety-blade trigger adds an additional layer of security, complementing the ambidextrous manual thumb safety and magazine disconnect.
