Colt Cadet .22 LR Semi-Auto Pistol, 4.5" Bull Barrel, Satin Stainless, 1995 Production
Produced in 1995, this Colt Cadet—later marketed as the Colt .22—represents the final rimfire pistol line ever manufactured by Colt. A fixed stainless bull barrel with a ventilated rib, lightweight slide, and straight-blowback operation give the gun a reputation for dependable accuracy. Its uncommon cross-bolt safety, internal hammer, and single-action trigger set it apart from typical rimfire designs, while the short 1994–1998 production run makes surviving examples increasingly hard to find.

The Cadet’s 4.5" fixed bull barrel is machined from stainless steel and paired with a ventilated rib that reduces both weight and glare. Because the barrel is integral to the receiver rather than the slide, shooters benefit from improved barrel-to-sight alignment and consistent point of impact.
A lightweight satin-stainless slide rides over a hard-anodized alloy frame, keeping overall weight down while maintaining full-size handling. Rear serrations offer a positive grip for charging, and the internal hammer design streamlines the profile without sacrificing reliability.
Sights consist of a fixed ramp front and a drift-adjustable square-notch rear, allowing fine windage correction without additional tools. Black polymer grip panels provide a secure, weather-resistant hold.
The straight-blowback action feeds from a 10-round stainless steel magazine. A cross-bolt safety—rare on semi-auto pistols—locks the trigger solidly, complementing the crisp single-action pull for deliberate target work.
With a production span of just four years and this example bearing the 1995 "PH" serial prefix, the Cadet stands out as a scarce Colt collectible that also delivers practical range performance.
