Mauser C96 M1921 Bolo 7.63mm Pistol – Matching-Number Weimar-Era Semi Auto
Made between 1923 and 1930, this Mauser C96 Standard Commercial pistol represents the late Weimar-era “New Safety” pattern. Chambered in 7.63 mm Mauser, it retains matching serial numbers on all major and small parts and displays clear Crown/U commercial proofs. The pistol keeps its original stepped 5.5-inch barrel, integral 10-round magazine, and tangent rear sight, making it a collectible yet shootable example of Mauser’s iconic “Broomhandle.”

What’s Included
- Mauser C96 “New Safety” 7.63 mm pistol (no additional accessories)
Commercial C96 production during the 1920s is less common than wartime contract runs, and this example bears the Mauser banner along with export “GERMANY” and importer CAI markings added under the 1968 GCA. These marks confirm legitimate import while keeping the original proofs visible.
The New Safety mechanism, adopted in 1915, simplifies operation with a two-position lever that locks the firing pin when engaged. Collectors value this safety for its association with post-WWI commercial sales and its distinct serrated thumb piece.
A full-length 140 mm barrel and tangent rear sight graduated out to 1,000 meters showcase Mauser’s original long-range intent for the 7.63 mm cartridge. The stepped barrel profile and spur hammer remain correct for this variant.
The frame retains its slot for the detachable wooden shoulder stock (not included), allowing the owner to equip an original stock without modification. Matching numbers throughout the pistol further enhance its collectibility and verify factory assembly.
