Eddystone M1917 Enfield .30-06 Sporterized Bolt-Action Rifle, 1918 Production, 26" Barrel
Made at the Eddystone plant in late 1918, this M1917 Enfield pairs World War I heritage with a classic sporter conversion. The strong nickel-steel receiver, cock-on-close action, and 26" carbon-steel barrel give it the durability and performance buyers look for, while the trimmed walnut stock and scope-ready receiver make it field-friendly.

What’s Included
- Eddystone M1917 Enfield sporterized bolt-action rifle
Serial range 945 xxx confirms late-war manufacture, placing this rifle firmly in the final production run of America’s primary WWI service arm. An “E” over ordnance bomb on the barrel further verifies Eddystone origin.
The receiver’s cock-on-close design offers smooth cycling and is famed for its strength—qualities appreciated by hunters and reloaders who value stout actions. Factory bolt handle contour and original military butt-plate with tool trap remain intact.
Sporter work focuses on practicality. The fore-end has been tastefully shortened, grasping grooves remain for secure handling, and the rifle now carries only the protected front blade sight. Removing the upper hand-guard and bands shaves weight while retaining the rifle’s integral 5-round magazine.
The carbon-steel barrel shows a clean bore and a serviceable 1-in-10 twist, keeping it compatible with the broad spectrum of .30-06 bullet weights. Fair rifling still delivers useful accuracy for hunting or range use.
A mix of parkerized and blued surfaces presents a respectable utilitarian finish. Combined with scope-mounting holes already drilled, this M1917 is ready for a glass upgrade or can be enjoyed as a rugged open-sight shooter that carries a genuine WWI pedigree.
