Chinese Type 56 SKS 7.62x39 Semi-Automatic Rifle with Custom Polymer Monte-Carlo Stock & Detachable Magazines
This Jianshe Arsenal Type 56 SKS combines classic Chinese military production with well-executed modern upgrades. Built at the Triangle 26 factory and imported by Norinco in the late 1980s–1990s, it now sports a black polymer Monte-Carlo stock with pistol grip and skeleton butt, a threaded 20.5-inch chrome-lined barrel with multi-port muzzle brake, and a receiver conversion that accepts detachable magazines. Matching serial numbers on the bolt, carrier, and trigger guard add collector appeal, while the chrome-lined barrel and short-stroke gas piston system preserve the rifle’s renowned reliability.

What’s Included
- AK-style thread-on multi-port muzzle brake (installed)
- Four 30-round detachable metal magazines
- Black nylon two-point sling
The receiver still carries the original Triangle 26 arsenal mark and Chinese characters 五六式, clearly identifying its military lineage. The matching serial numbers across critical components confirm it has remained together since manufacture.
The aftermarket polymer Monte-Carlo stock delivers a 14.5-inch length of pull, an integral pistol grip, and a ventilated recoil pad, all of which enhance handling and shooter comfort compared with the original wood furniture.
A professional magazine conversion replaces the fixed box magazine with a milled-in magazine well, allowing quick changes of the included 30-round steel magazines. Combined with the short-stroke gas piston action, the rifle runs smoothly with standard 7.62x39 ammunition.
The 20.5-inch chrome-lined barrel is threaded and capped with an AK-style multi-port muzzle brake that noticeably reduces felt recoil and muzzle rise. The brake’s length prevents installation of the original spike bayonet, though the bayonet lug remains intact for authenticity.
Standard SKS iron sights—hoodless post front and ladder-type tangent rear graduated from 100 to 1,000 meters—provide dependable, repeatable aiming references.
