Product Description

    Marlin Model 336RC .35 Rem Lever-Action Carbine, 1971 JM-Stamped, XS Scout Rail

Made in North Haven in 1971, this Marlin Model 336RC pairs classic lever-gun handling with the less common .35 Remington chambering. A factory JM-stamped barrel, Micro-Groove rifling, and a forged steel, side-eject receiver give it strong collector appeal, while practical upgrades like an XS Sights forward Picatinny rail and a ventilated recoil pad make it hunt-ready.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Good condition, showing some signs of prior use and handling.
Bore Condition: Good - Clean, well-maintained, minor wear marks.
Bore Rifling: Good Rifling - Intact, well-defined lands and grooves.

Specific Condition Notes: The walnut stock and fore-end exhibit small scuffs and rub marks consistent with field carry. Bluing shows light edge wear, but the action cycles smoothly and the trigger breaks cleanly.

    What’s Included

    • Marlin Model 336RC .35 Rem lever-action rifle with 20" barrel
    • XS Sights Lever Scout forward Picatinny rail (installed)

Produced with the serial prefix “71,” this Regular Carbine variant carries a 20-inch barrel and a full-length six-round tubular magazine, delivering quick handling without sacrificing capacity. The solid-top receiver is drilled and tapped from the factory, and the rear barrel sight has been removed to clear the scout rail.

The JM-stamped Micro-Groove barrel combines a clean bore with sharply cut rifling, helping the .35 Remington cartridge deliver reliable accuracy and ample energy for medium-sized game. Side ejection keeps spent cases clear of optics, a benefit when mounting a scout or traditional scope.

Custom touches include the XS Sights aluminum rail for forward-mount optics, sling-swivel studs front and rear, and a ventilated orange rubber recoil pad set off by white and black spacers. A gold-toned trigger adds a distinctive factory detail, while the pistol-grip walnut stock with a fluted comb maintains the rifle’s classic lines.

At just 14" length of pull, the stock fits a broad range of shooters, and the forged steel action retains Marlin’s reputation for strength and smooth operation. Overall, this 1971 JM-marked 336RC blends collectible provenance with practical enhancements for field or range use.
