Winchester Model 250 .22 LR Lever-Action Rifle, 20.5-Inch Barrel, 15-Round Tube Magazine
The Winchester Model 250 is a hammerless lever-action .22 LR rifle built in the 1960s–1970s 200 Series. Its lightweight cast-aluminum receiver, 20.5-inch chrome-moly barrel, and 15-round tubular magazine make it a handy, high-capacity small-bore lever gun. A grooved receiver allows easy mounting of 3/4-inch tip-off scopes, while factory iron sights remain in place for quick target work.
Condition
Overall Condition: Fair – Extensive signs of prior use and handling.
Bore Condition: Good – Clean and well-maintained with well-defined lands and grooves, minor wear marks.
Specific Condition Notes: The forward barrel band that secures the magazine tube is broken, causing the tube to hang loosely.
What’s Included
- Winchester Model 250 lever-action rifle (.22 LR)
This Model 250 uses Winchester’s cam-link, hammerless lever system that cocks an internal striker instead of an external hammer, giving it a smooth lever throw and a distinct profile. The lever also actuates a trigger disconnect safety, preventing firing until the lever is fully closed.
The receiver is cast aluminum alloy finished in black anodizing, keeping weight around 5 lbs and resisting corrosion. Winchester’s red enamel roll-marks and the oval “WP” proof stamp remain visible on the receiver and barrel.
The 20.5-inch chrome-molybdenum steel barrel is blued and paired with a 15-round tubular magazine, offering generous capacity for plinking, small-game hunting, or casual target shooting. A ramped blade front sight and elevator-wheel rear leaf sight give precise elevation control, while the receiver groove accepts optional tip-off scopes.
Oil-finished birch furniture features a comfortable pistol-grip stock and matching handguard, giving the rifle classic Winchester styling and a 13.5-inch length of pull.
