What’s Included
- Thompson/Center White Mountain Carbine .50 caliber muzzleloading rifle
At just 37.5" overall length, the White Mountain Carbine is built for maneuverability in thick timber while still providing a full-size 13.75" length of pull. Its 21" octagon-to-round blued barrel ends in Thompson/Center’s Quick-Load Accurizor recessed crown, easing bullet alignment and protecting the rifling at the muzzle.
The color case-hardened steel lockplate and hammer are factory engraved with traditional scrollwork, a touch that distinguishes this model from many utilitarian sidelocks of the era. The external hammer and single curved hunter trigger offer the familiar feel of classic percussion rifles.
A straight-grip hardwood stock with a satin finish keeps weight down while a factory rubber recoil pad adds shoulder comfort. Iron sights consist of a drift-dovetailed ramp front blade with protective ears and an adjustable folding rear leaf, giving a clear sight picture for round ball or conical loads.
Early production carbines like this one use a 1:20" twist, ideal for stabilizing heavier conicals and sabots. Combined with the carbine’s trim profile, it provides a balance of accuracy and portability that continues to attract black-powder hunters and collectors alike.
