Remington Model 572 Fieldmaster A Standard Grade .22 S/L/LR Pump-Action Rifle – 1971 Production
Made in 1971, this Remington Model 572 Fieldmaster A Standard Grade combines the platform’s well-known versatility in cycling .22 Short, Long, and Long Rifle cartridges with the lighter aluminum-alloy receiver introduced during this era. A 22.75" blued steel barrel, 15-round tubular magazine, and factory 3/8" scope grooves highlight its practical design, while its 1971 barrel date code “K U” confirms the production year for collectors.

What’s Included
- Remington Model 572 Fieldmaster A Standard Grade pump-action rifle (serial number prefix 1614***, 1971 production)
The 22.75" steel barrel carries Remington’s roll-marked patent numbers and a blued finish that matches the receiver’s black anodizing. The receiver’s integral 3/8" grooves allow easy installation of rimfire optics without additional bases.
A full-length tubular magazine under the barrel holds 15 rounds of .22 LR (and even more .22 Short), giving the shooter ample capacity between reloads. Feeding is managed by the pump-action slide, which also houses the cross-bolt safety for straightforward operation.
Original open sights remain in place: a dovetail-mounted rear sight with elevator and a ramp front blade; the front hood is absent. Impressed checkering on the straight-comb hardwood stock aids grip, and the aftermarket spacer brings the length of pull to 14.5".
Stamped with a “Fieldmaster” script on the left receiver side, this rifle represents Remington’s long-running rimfire pump line, offering multi-cartridge flexibility and classic American manufacture despite its working-grade condition.
