This commemorative Model 94 follows the classic 20-inch carbine pattern, chambered in .30-30 Winchester and feeding from a 6-round tubular magazine. The action retains the dependable external hammer and smooth lever throw that define the 94’s reputation in the field.
Collectors will note the factory color case-hardened receiver, lever, hammer, and forend cap—features unique to the Alaska Purchase Centennial series. The vivid case colors contrast with the deep blued barrel and magazine tube for a period-correct finish.
Gold-plated accents on the saddle ring and loading gate add visual distinction, while the barrel carries a gold-filled inscription reading “ALASKA PURCHASE CENTENNIAL 1867-1967.” Light factory scrollwork surrounds the inscription, providing tasteful decoration without overwhelming the carbine’s utilitarian lines.
The straight-grip walnut stock features a satin finish and is in excellent shape, capped on the right side by a bronze medallion depicting a totem pole and 49-star emblem. Together, these details mark the rifle’s commemorative purpose and link it to a specific historical milestone.
With production limited to 1,500 carbines—and this example bearing an early serial number—this Winchester Model 94 represents a scarce opportunity to own an intact, factory-embellished commemorative from the peak of Winchester’s 1960s special-edition programs.
