Designed by Česká Zbrojovka, the vz. 82 was the first mass-issue service pistol to combine chrome-lined polygonal rifling with the 9×18 mm chambering. The 3.8" barrel resists corrosion while delivering solid accuracy and easier maintenance.
Controls are fully ambidextrous. Dual thumb safeties, a heel-style magazine release, and an inertial firing pin with hammer intercept notch provide positive handling whether you shoot right- or left-handed.
The compact carbon-steel frame houses a 12-round double-stack magazine—four rounds more than typical Makarov-pattern pistols. Its rounded-spur hammer supports both double-action and single-action fire, driven by a simple, reliable blowback system.
Factory black enamel over parkerized steel protects the slide and frame. Rear serrations, an external extractor, fixed front blade, and drift-adjustable rear notch sights round out a design that balances service durability with straightforward operation.
