Astra Modelo 1915 .32 ACP 9-Shot WWI Spanish Semi-Auto Pistol
Built in Guernica by Esperanza y Unceta during World War I, this Astra Modelo 1915 combines early semi-automatic engineering with uncommon magazine capacity for the era. Produced before the well-known Ruby series, the Modelo 1915 represents Astra’s first major pocket-pistol design. Its straight-blowback, single-action mechanism is paired with a forward-mounted safety and heel-type magazine release—features that reflect Spanish service requirements of the time.
The 9-round capacity offered exceptional firepower for a pocket pistol in 1915, making it a sought-after sidearm for officers on both sides of the Pyrenees.
Lathe-cut spiral slide serrations and a deep charcoal-blue finish set this variant apart from later production runs. Twin five-pointed star proofs and the oval “EU” manufacturer code remain crisp and legible.
Fixed blade front and integral rear U-notch sights provide a straightforward sight picture, while checkered walnut grips give a secure, comfortable hold.
