What’s Included
- Winchester Model 37 Steelbilt 20 Gauge single-shot shotgun
- Aftermarket red rubber recoil pad (installed)
Introduced in 1936, the Model 37 earned the “Steelbilt” name from Winchester’s marketing emphasis on its forged steel receiver and barrel. The absence of a serial number on this shotgun is correct for the model and era, as Winchester did not serialize Model 37s during production.
The 26-inch, forged carbon-steel barrel is chambered for 2 ¾-inch shells and wears a factory fixed Modified choke, offering versatile performance for upland game or clay targets. A simple steel bead front sight provides an unobstructed sight picture.
This shotgun retains its original oil-finished walnut semi-pistol-grip stock and matching fore-end, both fitted tightly to the blued steel receiver. The aftermarket red rubber recoil pad shortens the length of pull to 13 inches, making the gun quick to shoulder and comfortable under recoil.
An exposed hammer and single-trigger break-action keep operation straightforward and dependable. The automatic ejector reliably clears spent hulls when the action is opened, speeding follow-up shots.
