Product Description

Inland M1A1 Paratrooper Carbine, Augusta Arsenal Rebuild – .30 Carbine, WWII-Era, Folding Wire Stock

Built in January 1944 by Inland Manufacturing and later refurbished at Augusta Arsenal, this M1A1 Paratrooper Carbine is a genuine World War II production rifle upgraded with the full post-war arsenal package. It retains its correct right-side-folding wire stock with leather cheek pad, two-rivet low-wood handguard, and Type III barrel band with bayonet lug. Matching Inland “IO” marked components and a 12-43-dated Inland barrel make this carbine a cohesive and collectible example of the famed airborne variant.

Bore Condition: Good – Clean, well-maintained, minor wear marks.
Rifling Condition: Good – Intact, well-defined lands and grooves.

    What’s Included

    • Inland M1A1 Paratrooper Carbine
    • 4-prong GI flash suppressor (installed)
    • Three 15-round USGI steel magazines

Inland produced approximately 140,000 M1A1 carbines for airborne forces, and this rifle falls within that wartime range with receiver serial 4900xxx and a December 1943 Inland barrel. After the war, Augusta Arsenal applied its “A A L” rebuild stamp, installing the Type III rear sight, barrel band with bayonet lug, and “M”-marked magazine catch favored for improved retention.

The correct folding wire stock still carries its leather cheek pad and “IO”-marked recoil plate, matching the Inland receiver. The parkerized finish remains even, typical of wartime production and arsenal refinishing. A push-button safety and stamped trigger guard complete the period-correct control set.

Sights consist of the fixed-blade front protected by sturdy ears and the stamped Type III adjustable rear aperture graduated from 1.5 to 300 yards, reflecting late-war upgrades. The arsenal-installed flash suppressor adds post-war practicality while remaining removable for collectors who prefer original configuration.

With its wartime manufacture, documented arsenal upgrade, and intact paratrooper furniture, this Inland M1A1 offers a well-balanced blend of historical authenticity and shooting readiness.
