The first-generation M&P 40 Shield 1.0 packs full-power .40 S&W performance into a slim, micro-compact frame. What’s Included

- 1× 7-round stainless steel magazine with extended baseplate
- 1× 6-round stainless steel flush-fit magazine
This Shield 1.0 retains the slim, 0.95 in profile that made the series popular for concealed carry, yet it chambers the potent .40 S&W cartridge. The micro size keeps weight and bulk low without sacrificing shootability.
The stainless steel slide and 3.1 in barrel wear Smith & Wesson’s black Armornite finish for enhanced corrosion resistance. Rear cocking serrations and a scalloped wave pattern provide a solid grasp for press checks or slide manipulations.
A striker-fired action with an internal striker block and trigger-shoe safety offers consistent pull and a clearly audible/tactile reset. The patented sear-deactivation system allows disassembly without pulling the trigger.
Three-dot sights—white blade front and drift-adjustable two-dot rear—deliver a familiar sight picture. The pistol ships with both flush and extended single-stack magazines for a 6- or 7-round capacity plus one chambered.
Now discontinued, this early-run Shield 1.0 provides a chance to own the original variant of Smith & Wesson’s influential micro-compact line, complete with its factory box and accessories.
