Remington 1903-A3 Sporterized Bolt-Action Rifle, 22.5-Inch Barrel, .30-06, 1942 Production
This 1942-manufactured Remington 1903-A3 has been thoughtfully converted from its original military configuration into a streamlined sporting rifle. A shortened 22.5-inch barrel, slotted steel muzzle brake, and walnut Monte Carlo stock give it a lighter, handier profile, while the forged WWII-era receiver and Mauser-style claw extractor keep the rugged reliability collectors expect from an 03-A3.

What’s Included
- Remington 1903-A3 bolt-action rifle as described
Built during the first year of Remington’s 1903-A3 production, this receiver (serial range 3.39 million) retains the original controlled-round-feed bolt with full-length claw extractor and internal five-round magazine with hinged floorplate and stripper-clip loading port. These core features preserve the rifle’s renowned reliability.
The barrel has been professionally cut to 22.5 inches and topped with a slotted steel muzzle brake/compensator, reducing felt recoil and muzzle rise. Combined with the 13.75-inch length of pull, the rifle balances well for field carry.
An aftermarket walnut Monte Carlo stock provides a raised cheek-piece for proper eye alignment with the retained military micrometer aperture rear sight. White-line spacers, a pistol-grip cap, sling-swivel studs, and a Pachmayr ventilated recoil pad complete the sporterized look while adding practical comfort.
The receiver’s original blued finish remains intact, offering classic appearance alongside forged carbon-steel strength. Although the front sight has been removed, the receiver-mounted aperture gives precise elevation and windage adjustments for hunting or target work.
