What’s Included
- Colt Frontier Scout ’62 .22 WMR revolver
Colt introduced the Frontier Scout ’62 as a small-frame companion to its larger Single Action Army, chambered here in .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire for increased velocity and down-range energy. The 4.75" carbon-steel barrel balances well with the alloy frame, keeping total weight around 2 lb for easy carry.
This revolver’s P-suffix serial confirms 1969 manufacture, an appealing detail for collectors tracking late-production Scouts. Only about 68,000 units were produced between 1962 and 1970, adding inherent scarcity to the model.
Factory Staglite grips with inset Colt medallions retain crisp texture and period-correct appearance. These grips were a signature feature and remain highly sought after when intact.
Hand-cut scroll engraving on the grip frame underside adds a unique visual accent without altering the gun’s classic lines. The gloss blue cylinder contrasts with the gloss-black frame for a traditional two-tone Colt finish.
Originally offered with convertible dual-cylinder capability, the design allows owners to fit a .22 LR cylinder (not included) alongside the magnum cylinder in the sale. Fixed sights—a quarter-round front blade and square-notch rear—complete the vintage single-action layout.
