Colt Single Action Frontier Scout “Kansas Statehood Centennial” .22 LR Revolver — Limited-Edition 1961 Gold-Plated Commemorative
This 1961 Colt Single Action Frontier Scout marks the first statehood commemorative ever produced by Colt. Limited to only 6,201 pieces, it honors the 100th anniversary of Kansas statehood with a bright gold-plated alloy frame, steel barrel and cylinder, factory scroll engraving, and smooth walnut grips. Its collectible status is reinforced by its low production run, distinctive finish, and factory-applied commemorative markings.

What’s Included
- Colt Single Action Frontier Scout Kansas Statehood Centennial revolver (serial number 5923G)
The Kansas Centennial Scout was built for a single year, making it one of the scarcer Frontier Scout variants. Each revolver received a unique “G” suffix serial number; this example, 5923G, sits well within the commemorative’s 001G–6201G range.
Its bright gold-plated alloy frame, steel cylinder, and barrel were exclusive to this commemorative run. The contrasting smooth walnut grips provide handling comfort while complementing the reflective finish.
A 4.75-inch steel barrel and six-shot cylinder chambered in .22 Long Rifle keep the classic Single Action Army profile while offering economical shooting. Fixed sights—a half-moon blade front and square-notch rear—maintain the traditional look.
Factory scroll engraving on the butt-strap and commemorative roll marks distinguish the revolver visually and document its place in Colt’s centennial series. Because production ceased in 1961, surviving examples in very good condition—such as this one—remain desirable to both Colt collectors and enthusiasts of commemorative firearms.
