Traditions Buckskinner Carbine .50 Caliber Percussion Sidelock with 21" Octagon Barrel
This discontinued Traditions Buckskinner Carbine combines compact dimensions with a fast 1:20 twist rate that favors conical bullets and sabots. Built in Spain by Ardesa and imported through Old Saybrook, Connecticut during the 1990s, it offers a 21-inch blued octagonal barrel, a case-colored lock bearing light scroll engraving, and a hardwood stock sized for easy carry in the field. At roughly 6 pounds and 37 inches overall, it delivers full-size power in a maneuverable black-powder package.

The 21-inch blued octagon barrel is drilled and tapped for a sight base, giving shooters the option to add optics or a peep sight without gunsmithing. The open iron sights—blade front and fully adjustable rear—are ready for accurate work right out of the box.
A percussion sidelock action with an external hammer keeps operation traditional and reliable. The single, non-set trigger breaks cleanly, while the lock’s case-colored finish and tasteful scroll engraving add a touch of ornament without sacrificing durability.
The hardwood stock features a straight comb and pistol-grip wrist, finished in a satin stain that pairs well with the blued metal. A 14-inch length of pull accommodates most adult shooters, and the installed leather sling aids field carry.
With its compact 37-inch overall length and approximately 6-pound weight, this carbine balances quickly for woods hunting or shooting from tight positions. Its fast 1:20 twist is optimized for modern conicals and sabots, broadening projectile choices beyond round ball.
