Walther P1 Bundeswehr Issue 9mm Luger, 4.9" Barrel, 1982-Dated Surplus Pistol
Produced in August 1982 for the West German Army, this Walther P1 is a late-production, alloy-framed descendant of the famed P38. It carries matching serial numbers, the Bundeswehr acceptance star, and a reinforcement pin in the frame—an upgrade found on the final military runs. The pistol retains its original grey-phosphate slide, black-anodised frame, and arrives with its full Bundeswehr field kit, making it a complete, ready-to-shoot example for collectors and shooters alike.

This P1 features the classic open-top slide and hinged locking block that defined the P38 family, delivering proven reliability and mild recoil with standard 9x19 ammunition. The slide-mounted safety doubles as a decocker, and an automatic firing-pin block adds a layer of drop safety.
The black-anodised aluminium alloy frame cuts weight while the reinforcement cross-pin, introduced in later P1 production, increases durability under extended firing. An integral lanyard loop on the backstrap reflects its military roots.
Original Bundeswehr property and acceptance markings remain sharp, underscoring its service pedigree. The SSME Plant City FL import stamp confirms it entered the U.S. as genuine surplus rather than a commercial remake.
Fixed iron sights—white-dot front and rear notch—offer a clean sight picture. The pistol retains the loaded-chamber indicator on the top cover, a hallmark Walther safety aid.
