Product Description

Winchester Model 70 Magnum Post-64 Push-Feed .375 H&H Mag. Bolt-Action Rifle – 1967 Production, Blued Steel, Walnut Monte Carlo Stock

Built in 1967, this Winchester Model 70 Magnum pairs classic .375 H&H Mag. power with the cost-reduction post-64 push-feed action. The rifle features a 23.5-inch blued chrome-moly barrel, a matte-blued steel receiver with plunger ejector, and an engine-turned bolt body. Its satin walnut Monte Carlo stock carries fine checkering, a left-side cheek-piece, and cross-bolt reinforcement, capped by a red ventilated Winchester recoil pad. Express iron sights, installed steel scope bases, and rings make it ready for optic or irons.

Collectors and hunters alike will recognize this as a representative example of late-1960s Model 70 manufacturing.

    What’s Included

    • Steel split scope rings (installed)
    • Two-piece steel scope bases (installed)

The heart of this rifle is Winchester’s post-64 push-feed action, recognized by its plunger ejector and fully recessed bolt face. While later variants returned to controlled-round feed, this 1967 example demonstrates the transitional engineering that defined the era.

The 23.5-inch standard-weight barrel is blued chrome-moly steel with a 1:12 RH twist, well-suited for the heavy .375 H&H Mag. bullet range. A ramp front blade and folding express rear sight provide fast sight alignment, while installed bases and rings simplify scope mounting.

The satin walnut stock uses a Monte Carlo comb and left-side cheek-piece to position the shooter’s eye naturally behind irons or optics. Sharp checkering aids grip, and a cross-bolt reinforces the recoil-lug area for big-bore durability. The red ventilated Winchester pad with white and black spacers completes the period look and tames recoil.

At approximately 8.75 lb unscoped with a 13.25-inch length of pull, the rifle balances manageable weight with the stout build expected from a dangerous-game chambering. Winchester’s three-position wing safety offers intuitive control: fire, safe with bolt operation, and safe with bolt locked.

Serial number prefix 860xxx confirms 1967 manufacture in New Haven, adding collectible appeal for Model 70 enthusiasts tracking production changes between pre-64 and modern iterations.
