The 686-6 Plus is built on Smith & Wesson’s L-Frame, engineered to handle the pressure of full-power .357 Magnum loads while keeping weight manageable at 38.9 oz. The forged stainless steel frame, cylinder, and barrel offer corrosion resistance and long-term durability.
A 7-round, fluted cylinder provides one extra shot over the standard six, a feature that competition shooters and defensive users appreciate. The yoke is factory-stamped 686-6, confirming the internal keyed lock and updated MIM trigger components found on this variant.
The 4.125-inch full-lug barrel adds forward weight for quicker follow-up shots and houses a shrouded ejector rod for protection. A red-insert serrated ramp front sight pairs with a fully adjustable white-outline rear sight for a fast, high-contrast sight picture.
Controls include a smooth double-action/single-action trigger, transfer-bar firing-pin block, hammer block, and integral keyed lock above the cylinder release. The external case-colored hammer adds a subtle visual accent to the otherwise uniform satin stainless finish.
A one-piece black Hogue Monogrip offers a secure, recoil-absorbing hold, rounding out a revolver that is ready for target work, competition stages, or field carry straight from the box.
