Smith & Wesson Model 645 2nd Generation .45 ACP Semi-Auto Pistol, 5" Stainless Barrel
The Model 645 is Smith & Wesson’s first production .45 ACP autopistol and one of the standout designs of the company’s 1980s “2nd Generation” series. Built entirely from stainless steel, this full-size, DA/SA sidearm was produced for only three years (1985–1988) and gained pop-culture recognition on the TV series “Miami Vice.” Its limited run, durable construction, and role in S&W history make this pistol attractive to shooters and collectors alike.

What’s Included
- Smith & Wesson Model 645 pistol
- One factory 8-round stainless steel single-stack magazine
The 5-inch stainless steel barrel teams with a matte stainless slide and frame, giving the Model 645 a corrosion-resistant build suited to hard use. A squared and serrated trigger guard, fixed three-dot combat sights, and an external hammer with a rounded serrated spur round out its practical feature set.
This pistol operates on a traditional double-action/single-action short-recoil system. An ambidextrous slide-mounted safety/decocker provides both left- and right-handed shooters with positive control. The smooth-faced trigger aids in consistent, repeatable trigger pulls.
The single-stack design keeps the grip slim while delivering an 8+1 capacity in .45 ACP. Black checkered synthetic panels offer a secure hold without adding bulk, and the full-size frame helps manage recoil for quicker follow-up shots.
Because the Model 645 marked Smith & Wesson’s entry into .45 ACP autoloaders and saw a short production span, examples in solid mechanical shape—especially with bright, sharp bores like this one—have become increasingly desirable.
