Beretta 687 Ducks Unlimited Limited Edition 20 Gauge Over/Under Shotgun – Gold-Inlaid, 26-Inch Barrels, 3-Inch Chambers
This 1993 Beretta 687 Ducks Unlimited Limited Edition is one of roughly 2,500 dinner-gun examples produced in 20 gauge. It features extensive scroll engraving with gold-inlaid pheasant and waterfowl scenes set against a coin-finished receiver, a vent-ribbed 26-inch barrel set, and a Mobil-choke system uncommon on early-1990s commemoratives. The DU-prefix serial number confirms its placement in the special Ducks Unlimited production run.
Condition
Overall Condition: Very good condition, showing only light, superficial signs of prior handling or use.
Bore Condition: Excellent – Clean, mirror finish, no signs of wear.
The walnut stock exhibits a few light dents, scratches, and small chips. The barrels show one shallow scratch and a minor dent, and the edges around the handguard reveal limited finish wear to bare metal. None of these marks affect function.
What’s Included
- Beretta 687 Ducks Unlimited Limited Edition 20 Gauge over/under shotgun
- SK (Skeet) Mobil-choke tube installed
Beretta built this limited run on the proven 687 action, pairing traditional Italian craftsmanship with Ducks Unlimited’s wildlife conservation theme. Nearly 100 percent scroll coverage surrounds gold-inlaid game scenes and a DU banner, all hand-cut and factory-applied. The engraver’s “Maass” signature often found on this series is present on the sideplate.
The 26-inch blued barrels are vent ribbed for a clean sight picture and chambered for 3-inch shells, giving the shooter flexibility with modern 20 gauge loads. Beretta’s interchangeable Mobil-choke system—here supplied with an SK tube—allows quick adaptation to skeet, upland, or waterfowl scenarios.
A gold-plated single selective trigger, top-tang safety/selector, and smooth break-action deliver the familiar handling expected from the 680-series family. At approximately 6.25 pounds with a 14.25-inch length of pull, the gun balances well between the hands for fast target acquisition.
The exhibition-grade walnut stock wears a high-gloss finish, crisp hand-cut checkering, a pistol grip, and a Schnabel forend capped by a black recoil pad. Italian Gardone proof marks and a BC date code verify 1993 production.
