Mossberg Model 800B .243 Win. Bolt-Action Rifle | 22-Inch Barrel, Walnut Monte Carlo Stock, Weaver Bases
The Mossberg Model 800B is one of the company’s first center-fire rifles, combining a six-lug, 60° bolt lift inspired by Weatherby with a polished blue finish and a crisp single-stage trigger. Chambered in the flat-shooting .243 Win., this full-size bolt gun offers a 4-round internal magazine with a hinged floorplate, factory iron sights, and installed Weaver scope bases—making it ready for either glass or irons. A walnut-finished Monte Carlo stock with skip-line checkering rounds out a classic American sporting rifle produced in the late 1960s to early 1970s.

Introduced in 1966, the Model 800 series marked Mossberg’s entry into center-fire rifles. This 800B variant showcases the line’s signature six-lug bolt head and short 60° throw, giving shooters smooth cycling and solid lockup.
The rifle’s 22-inch barrel and .243 Win. chambering balance velocity with manageable recoil, making it suitable for varmints, deer, and target duty alike. A ramped brass bead front sight pairs with a folding step-elevator rear, while the installed Weaver bases allow quick optic mounting without additional gunsmithing.
The walnut-finished hardwood stock features a Monte Carlo comb, right-hand cheek piece, white-line spacer, and impressed skip-line checkering for a period-correct look and steady grip. Length of pull measures 13.5 inches.
Additional touches include an engine-turned bolt body, a tang-mounted two-position safety that is easy to reach with the shooting thumb, and a polished blue steel finish across the receiver and barrel. Fewer than 150,000 Model 800 rifles were produced, giving this example added appeal for Mossberg enthusiasts.
