The KMK512 designation denotes a stainless, 5.5-inch bull barrel that delivers excellent balance and heat resistance. The barrel and receiver are machined from a single stainless steel forging, keeping the sights rigidly aligned with the bore.
Ruger’s blowback-operated, single-action system provides a crisp trigger and reliable cycling with standard or high-velocity .22 LR ammunition. The pistol retains the original heel-type magazine release and last-shot bolt hold-open, features many enthusiasts prefer for their simplicity and positive operation.
A fully adjustable square-notch rear sight and Patridge front blade allow precise zeroing for target work. The black checkered Zytel grips, set at an angled 55-degree rake, promote a natural pointing feel reminiscent of the classic Luger.
The Mark II Target series was discontinued in 2005, giving this 213-prefix example added collector interest. Its lack of a magazine disconnect, combined with its excellent mechanical and cosmetic state, positions it as a desirable specimen of Ruger’s most popular rimfire line.
